HOUSE OF WALLS

House of Walls – Experience urban art live

Whilst the World Freestyle Skateboarding Championships focus on skateboarding, House of Walls brings the creative and artistic side of street culture straight to the festival – and brings art to life for visitors of all ages.

Here, local and international artists come together and transform walls into impressive works of art right before your eyes. It’s not just about classic graffiti: House of Walls brings together a wide variety of art forms from urban culture – from graffiti and street art to illustration, character design and painting, right through to experimental forms such as mixed media or digital installations.

Visitors can experience the entire creative process up close – from the first sketch to the finished work. The artists work right there on site and offer fascinating insights into their techniques, materials and sources of inspiration.

At the same time, an open space is created for exchange, conversation and interaction between the artists and the public.

In addition to the live painting sessions, visitors can look forward to an interactive
creative area for all ages, inviting everyone to get involved:

• Graffiti participation wall: Here, visitors can get creative
themselves and gain their first experience of working with paint on large surfaces.

• Tagging wall: An open space where anyone can leave their own tag
or lettering – a growing collaborative work featuring
many different styles.

• Brush and paint stations: Especially for children, families and
beginners, there are areas where they can freely experiment with brushes, markers and
paints.

• Creative mini-sessions: Artists will occasionally demonstrate simple
techniques, explain styles or offer brief insights into their
working methods.

• Interactive mapping installations: Digital projections react
to movement or combine painted surfaces with animated elements,
creating an exciting blend of art and technology.

Another highlight is the House of Walls raffle: visitors
have the chance to enter a prize draw and, with a bit
of luck, win original artworks by the participating artists –
a special opportunity to take a piece of the festival home with them.

Over the course of the weekend, this creates a vibrant, evolving
artistic landscape emerges over the weekend, where visitors don’t just watch, but
become part of the creative action themselves.

With its mix of contests, shows and music, House of Walls thus becomes an
open meeting place for fans of skate, art and street culture of all
ages – full of colour, inspiration and creative energy right at the heart of
the festival action at Messe Kassel.
