Ready to Roll: WFSC 2026 Contest Registration starts soon!
Here we go!
On February 1st, official registration opens for the World Freestyle Skateboarding Championships 2026 at Messe Kassel!
This year, registration intentionally opens as early as possible to give everyone more lead time for planning and to help better manage the rising travel costs.
As usual, registration will take place via our website. However, there are several important changes for 2026.
This year, contest participants will not be able to choose their own competition class. Class placement will be determined by our jury committee, based on your previous contest results, gender, and age. This approach allows us to ensure fair and, above all, exciting competitions. After registering, you will receive feedback from us regarding the assessment of your competition class.
As already announced on our social media channels, after careful consideration we are saying goodbye to the Rookie Division. What started eight years ago with 48 participants has now grown to over 100 riders. The Rookie categories have fulfilled their purpose: lowering the barrier to entry, fostering connections, and integrating new riders into the freestyle scene. Many former rookies now compete successfully in the Amateur, Pro, or Women categories.
However, an event at world championship level is not the right environment for beginners. Fortunately, there are now many smaller freestyle contests offering suitable Rookie formats. Rookies will still be part of the event — we’ll share more details soon!
Another reason to celebrate: due to the strong development of the scene and the growing number of top-level female athletes, we are introducing the Woman+ Pro category for the first time — an important step the entire freestyle community has been working toward for a long time.
This year, music selection and submission can be done later than usual, giving everyone a bit more time to choose the perfect track for their run.
More information about camping will be shared soon as well: a campsite along the Fulda River, in close proximity to Messe Kassel, is planned.
We’re incredibly excited and can’t wait to show you more of what next level really means!
