WFSC 2026 – House of Walls is going big!

House of Walls was created in 2025 at the Huguenot House in Kassel as part of Kassel Museum Night — and evolved there into an urban art experience that went far beyond a traditional exhibition. Curated by Elli OWK and Noëlle Behboud, House of Walls presented murals, graffiti, tattoo art, photography, and installations by national and international artists, accompanied by hip-hop DJs and breakdance battles.

Around 4,000 visitors attended — and became not just spectators, but an integral part of the entire experience. Different art forms met and, through these synergies, genuine exchange emerged. With this project, House of Walls created new space to rethink urban subculture in Kassel, to connect, and to grow together.

What began at the Huguenot House was the starting point for something bigger. From August 14 to 16, House of Walls takes the next step — in cooperation with the World Freestyle Skateboarding Championship at Messe Kassel. The format thus moves from a historic building into the exhibition hall and opens itself to an even larger audience.

Here, art, music, movement, and skateboarding come together directly. There is no classic exhibition area; instead, an urban hotspot is created within the event.

Interactive, hands-on activities, contemporary urban art in a new context, live performances, and creative sessions create a cross-generational experience for visitors aged 5 to 99.

House of Walls stands for contemporary urban culture — accessible, authentic, raw, and connective. We believe that art must be experienced. That movement and creativity belong together. And that events are at their strongest when they create a community that lasts.

We are excited to write the next chapter this year together with the World Freestyle Skateboarding Championship.
